Kingdom on Facebook

As mentioned at the end of last year I see merit in using the technology of Facebook to promote discussion on the Kingdom. You can participate in this discussion by joining Facebook and linking to my profile and the discussion on the Kingdom. To give you some idea of how this will work please see below our first posting to which comments can be made.

“At our church I recently met Rob Hensser who is the leader of YWAM here on the coast. Rob had heard me speak on the Kingdom and is interested in developing this message for his training of YWAMers. I sent to Rob a powerpoint of some teaching I did on the Kingdom at the YWAM base in Brisbane. Here is Rob’s feedback and some good questions for us to consider and respond to.

I finally made it through your power point – great stuff mate. I loved the fact that I saw some principles that are fundamental to ywam (no division of sacred and secular, transformation of spheres of society), and also a wake up call to us to get out of our church culture and embrace global transformation. The bit that resonated the most with me was the example of the Clapham Sect. We seem to have moved away from the creation of “societies” – but a lot of transformation and change happened precisly when believers embraced the “society concept” (I am thinking also of missions…). What do you think is the modern day equivalent? Should we be looking to start societies again? How would they work in our day and culture? Any thoughts there…
Happy New Year
Rob Hensser
